Vadim Sorokin is the father of Anna Sorokin.

History[]

Move to Germany[]

When his children were young, Vadim moved his family to Germany. He went ahead and then arranged for his daughter, Anna, to travel to Germany alone, bringing a bag full of money with her. Shortly after Anna's arrival, she was brought to a restaurant, where Vadim was waiting. She was surprised to see him order a bottle of wine, because they never had nice things in Russia. When the bottle of wine arrived, the waiter said he was told to make sure Vadim knew how much it cost. Vadim said he still wanted it and a Diet Coke, then he told Anna that people would assume they were poor and dirty and treat them poorly because they were immigrants. But he said he had powerful friends and they weren't poor anymore. When the waiter brought the drinks, Vadim poured the Diet Coke into the wine glass.

Speaking to Vivian[]

When Vivian Kent came to Germany to learn more about Anna's childhood and life there, he saw Vadim exit a building and called out to him. He told her to leave him alone and walked away. Vivian later came to Vadim's work, where he told her no reporters. Mira translated as Vivian told him she didn't know him as anything but Anna's father who should be there to support her. He agreed to answer some questions for her.

Vadim told Vivian that he didn't understand why Anna did what she did. She always wanted more than what she had. When Vivian asked about the rumors of him having money hidden somewhere, he said that all he tried to do was provide for his family. Vivian asked to meet his family, but he got upset and left.

Vivian followed Vadim home, but as she tried to peek through the windows, Ivan came home and called out to his parents. Svetlana herded Ivan inside. Then Vadim came to the door and told Svetlana who Vivian was. Svetlana told Vivian to come inside, where they talked about Anna and how Svetlana believed she was the way she was from the beginning, not because of how she was raised.

After Vivian left, Vadim sent her the hospital records from Anna's hospitalization, which the hospital had sent to them. He told her they couldn't find an answer in them, but maybe she could.
