Nora Radford is a wealthy Manhattan socialite who helped Anna make connections.
History[]
Meeting Anna[]
In 2014, when she became acquainted with Val, who already lived with Nora, Anna began living with Nora as well. She also brought along Chase Sikorski, who was trying to build a business called Wake that promised to harness the power of your dreams. When Chase and Anna returned from Paris, Nora took Chase under her wing, introducing him to her contacts and helping him secure funding for his app.
Jealous of this, Anna used their shared knowledge of art to make Nora like her more. Nora invited her to go shopping at Bergdorf's with Nora's long-time friend group. It was at this outing that Anna learned about and became fixated on 281 Park as the location for the Anna Delvey Foundation. Nora had Anna pick out some things for Chase to add to her bill.
From this point forward, Nora started to rely on Anna to fetch things for her, like picking up the takeout she had ordered at an after-party. Chase claimed to go on a trip to Berlin for an Open Air, but had actually gone to Ohio to stay with his parents because he'd run out of the money he'd received from investors for Wake. When he returned, he maintained the lie with Nora until Anna went to Nora and told her that Chase was struggling financially. Nora then focused all her attention on helping Anna build ADF, including taking Anna to a fundraiser Chase was supposed to attend with her. At the event, Nora introduced people to Anna who could help her build ADF as she envisioned it. Because he'd originally been her guest, Chase still attended the event, though Nora and Anna ignored him.
When they returned home that night, Nora got a call saying she had strange charges on her credit card. She reviewed her bank statements and learned Anna had charged hundreds of thousands of dollars on her cards. Anna packed up her things that night and left Nora's place. Despite having so much money stolen, Nora decided not to press charges against Anna because she didn't want her name entangled in Anna's crimes and she was able to get her money back because her friend, Donna Zaveri, is the CEO of Federal Credit. After Anna left, she sent Nora a present, a taxidermy peacock.[1]
Talking to Vivian[]
When Nora learned that Anna Delvey had been arrested, she and her companion, Val Boron, agreed that they had never met her, as they didn't want to be embarrassed by their association with her. Despite this, Nora ended up talking to Vivian Kent, who was gathering information for an article she was writing. Nora said she barely knew Anna. All she knew was that Anna's family was in antiques and she had a trust fund. Despite this conversation, she later told Val she hadn't spoken to Vivian.[2]
Vivian went back to Nora later. Nora didn't want to talk to her, but Vivian had realized she lied about her association with Anna. She said she could do some digging and report it with Nora's name or Nora could cooperate and she'd leave Nora's name out of it. Nora told Vivian everything had happened with Anna staying with her and later stealing from her. Then she gave Vivian the taxidermy peacock Anna had given her.[3]
