Friends in Low Places is the sixth episode of Inventing Anna.

Vivian obtains footage of Anna's ill-fated trip to Morocco, an extravagant retreat with Rachel, Kacy and a videographer that quickly spirals into chaos.

Margaret, Todd, and Jack chat awkwardly at the table while they wait for Vivian to arrive. Vivian finally arrives and pulls out an iPad, which has the video from Anna's trip to Morocco. They gather around to watch it. It starts off like a normal vacation, until there's a clip where Rachel is begging someone and Anna tells Noah to turn the camera off. It's all normal except that one clip. At this point, Anna had one last shot to get the funding for her club. She had no money, yet took an expensive trip to Morocco. Jack and Margaret both know the whole story because it's all their spouses talk about. Vivian goes to show Todd another bit of the footage.

Vivian thanks Noah for the footage. He's happy to license it to Manhattan Magazine if they want, too. Vivian asks how he ended up on the trip and Noah says he does videography work at Vanity Fair with Rachel. She brought him in to film their vacation. He thinks Anna was testing her own reality show or something like that. Vivian asks what happened there. The footage doesn't explain that. Noah says he's not really comfortable talking about it. Vivian offers not to use his name, but he wants to protect himself, Rachel, and Kacy.

Kacy tells Vivian to ask Rachel what happened, but Vivian hasn't been able to find Rachel. Kacy has to leave to meet a client. Vivian just wants to know how Rachel ended up paying for everything. Did Anna coerce her? Kacy can't answer that, so Vivian asks her about the footage. Kacy's surprised she's seen it.

Kacy wakes up and turns off her alarm. She leaves her apartment and goes to work, where she coaches a young starlet and Nicole.

Rachel talks about vacation plans while Kacy coaches her and Anna. She suggests getting two adjoining suites so they all have their own space. Rachel offers to book it for them and Anna can pay them back. Anna leaves the workout to take a call, saying it could be about her loan. It's Alan, saying Fortress needs more time. Anna's upset at that. After she hangs up, Anna says she'll need more space than just the suites and suggests booking the private riad and invites Kacy to come on the trip.

Martin is upset that Kacy is leaving for a week and it's not even for work. She says she wants him to come upstairs and he says he'll make breakfast. Or she can be breakfast. She stops him and says she has to get to sleep because she has a plane to catch. He tells her to call when she gets back.

Kacy

Kacy, Anna, Rachel, and Noah arrive in Morocco and take in the sights. Rachel thinks it's beautiful and starts talking about what she knows about the area, but Anna interrupts to ask Noah to film her. At the resort, their car is checked for bombs before they're allowed in. When they get to the entrance, Adilah welcomes them and offers them a tour. She talks about the resort as she shows them around and Noah films. Rachel recognizes a location from Khloé's Instagram and she and Anna go to take a selfie. As they do that, Noah admits to Kacy that he's not really sure why Anna brought him along. Kacy tells him no matter what, he'll get a great experience. The universe provides what you're meant to have. Adilah leads the group to the riad.

They all love the riad. Anna gets held back talking to Adilah, but she says it's nothing.

Kacy coaches Anna and Rachel through yoga.

Anna complains about Fortress while she, Rachel, and Kacy play tennis.

Rachel wants to go to the YSL gardens, but Anna doesn't want to leave the hotel.

Kacy has trouble relaxing while Anna talks about ADF and Rachel talks about things she wants to see in Morocco.

At dinner, Rachel says she's surprised she and Noah never talk at work because they have so much in common. They order food and Rachel tries to make plans to leave the resort, but Anna shuts it down. She just wants to stay at the hotel, saying they have everything they need there. Adilah calls Anna away from the table to talk to her. Noah wonders what that's about, but Kacy starts to feel sick. She excuses herself from the table, and Noah rushes to help her.

Kacy vomits in her bed at the riad.

Kacy tells Vivian she ate all the same food as everyone else, but was the only one who got sick. She thinks the universe was protecting her from what came next. She didn't know it then.

Anna and Rachel are enjoying their breakfast when Noah comes by, wheeling Kacy's suitcase. He's going to walk Kacy to the car and film some B-roll.

Noah asks if Kacy got the vacation the universe meant her to have. Kacy just laughs. As they walk, they run into Mehdi Harrak, who asks where they're going, and some guards. Noah explains and the guards walk off.

Kacy says she was in bed for six days, which is hell for a fitness junkie.

Kacy scrolls through Instagram, seeing all of Rachel and Anna's pictures.

Kacy wakes to her phone ringing, but ignores it. When it rings again, she answers it. Anna cries that she's stuck in Morocco. She got mugged and doesn't have any of her credit cards. She has no way of getting home. Kacy immediately starts booking a flight for her. Anna asks if she can get a first-class ticket.

Kacy tells Rachel she didn't get Anna a first-class ticket. Rachel admits it must have been scary for Anna. She didn't know Anna got mugged because she and Noah left a few days ago to get back to work. Rachel is sure Anna will pay Kacy back, and Rachel as well, as Rachel ended up paying for things when Anna had card trouble. Kacy feels bad for Anna. Rachel asks if she's feeling better and Kacy says she is.

Kacy and Martin make out in her apartment. She takes the last bottle of water out of her fridge, saying they'll have to ration it as they work up a sweat.

Martin and Kacy are having sex when Kacy's phone rings. He asks her not to answer it, but she says that line never rings, so she has to answer it in case it's her kid. She answers it and it's Bobby, from the front desk. He tells her she has a visitor. It's Anna. Kacy is shocked and tells Bobby to tell Anna she's not available. She hangs up and gets back to things with Martin. The phone rings again a moment later. Bobby says Anna is crying and saying it's an emergency.

Kacy asks Anna what's going on. Anna is crying, to Kacy tells her to breathe. Then Anna tells her her new cards haven't come and she doesn't have her trust allowance. Kacy asks if she's called her parents, but Anna says her parents don't understand her. Anna asks if she can sleep over as she doesn't have anywhere else to stay. Kacy says she can't. Anna goes to leave, but then says she's afraid to be alone, worried about what she might do to herself.

Kacy tells Vivian that Anna knew it would affect her to throw suicide around like that. Vivian starts to ask why, but Kacy stops her.

Martin's upset that Kacy is letting Anna stay. He thinks she's letting a client take advantage of her. He wants her to set some boundaries and call him when that happens.

Kacy comes out of the bedroom to find Anna drinking her water straight from the bottle.

Kacy has many complaints about the night Anna spent at her place. She found a dress for Anna to wear the next day and Anna said it was ugly, though she ended up wearing it. From what Kacy has heard, it's the only thing she wore for the next couple weeks.

Kacy calls Rachel and asks what happened in Morocco. Rachel starts crying.

Kacy understands looking back why Anna didn't want to leave the hotel. At a hotel, you just charge everything to your room, but once you leave, you have to pay for things. She's not sure how they didn't realize it sooner. There were signs they ignored.

Adilah makes several attempts to get a working card from Anna.

After seeing Kacy leave, Mehdi goes to Anna and tells her they need a working credit card. They haven't received the wire she says she sent. If she can't give them something, they'll be escorted off the premises. Rachel tells Anna to give them something, though she keeps making excuses and insults Morocco. When Mehdi sees Noah filming, they both tell him to turn it off. To avoid being kicked out, Rachel offers to put a card down to use as a hold until Anna's bank sorts it out. Rachel hands over her card.

Noah still doesn't want to talk to Vivian about Morocco. Vivian shares what she knows and Noah admits that Rachel was pressured by Anna to put her card down. Noah doesn't want Vivian to make Rachel look stupid. Vivian realizes they're dating. She says she wants to do Rachel justice and his perspective would help.

At the resort, Anna is offended by the resort's actions. Rachel asks Anna to call her bank. Anna says she will and walks away. Noah asks Rachel what's going on. Rachel brushes his concern off.

Anna texts Alan, asking about Fortress. He says they should know by tonight.

Rachel insists that everything is fine and they should enjoy their vacation. Anna comes in and suggests they go to the garden like Rachel wanted. Rachel is excited to do what she wanted finally.

A driver takes them to the garden. Anna is underwhelmed, but Rachel says the inside of the house is the real star. Anna wants them to get a tour.

A French lady shows them around and tells them about the villa. At the end of the tour, Rachel takes happy selfies. The French lady then brings them the bill, which is about $2000. Anna can't pay it and neither can Noah. Rachel realizes the hotel still has her card. She only has her work card, which she can't use. They have no way to pay.

The driver takes them, plus an YSL guard, back to the hotel to get Rachel's card so they can pay. Adilah tells Rachel she can't give her the card, as she has to keep it physically on file until check out. The guard says he has to call police if he doesn't get a form of payment. Adilah will also have to call police if they remove the card. Rachel clarifies that the card she leaves with the hotel won't be charged. She offers to give them her work card for the hold so she can get her personal card for YSL. Rachel has to go back to the villa with the guard to run the card, but Adilah says the manager has said they can't leave until they have a card approved to charge. She made an error letting them leave earlier. When pressed, Adilah agrees that one of them can go. Rachel says she'll be fine with the driver and goes alone.

Rachel gives the French lady her card, but learns it was declined. It's declined a second time.

Noah watches Anna text on her phone.

Rachel calls American Express. Once she gets a person on the line, Rachel explains her situation and they ask how much she needs them to authorize to get her home safely.

Anna frantically texts Alan. Finally, he calls her and tells her Fortress approved her loan. She celebrates and has him repeat it so Noah can hear as well. She asks when they'll have the money. He says Fortress is sending someone to Germany in person to verify her assets and then she'll have the money. This brings Anna's mood down significantly and she ends the call. She takes a bottle of champagne and goes outside for a walk. Noah grabs the camera and follows. He finds Anna on the tennis court hitting balls and crying while drinking. A ball hits her and she falls to the ground. Noah goes to check on her and turns off the ball machine. Anna lies and says she called her dad and he's going to get her early access to her trust to fund ADF, which is better than the loan. She gets up to go change.

Rachel returns and hugs Noah, saying everything is taken care of. He tells her they have to leave. There's a guard outside the door and he's not sure what's happening with Anna, but they need to leave. It could take days for Anna to get her cards sorted and they're in a bad situation. They need to leave. He tells her to leave her card because she can get a new one at home. He wants her to pack right away so they can leave.

Rachel goes to Anna and Anna tells her the same thing she told Noah about the money. Rachel's happy for her. Anna wants them to celebrate. Rachel asks if her bank sorted things out, but Anna says her dad will wire the money for the hotel once she can reach him in a few days. Rachel starts to pack her things and tells Anna she's going home. Anna tries to get her to stay, but Rachel says she has to leave. Anna tries to get use of the resort's helicopter and gets mad when they say no. While she's on the phone, Rachel slips out, leaving her alone.

Outside, Noah quickly loads Rachel's things and they leave in the car. They're relieved when no one follows them.

Anna was in Morocco for another week after Rachel and Noah left. It breaks Kacy's heart to think about her there alone. At some point, she realized the only way out was to charge Rachel's cards.

Rachel says Anna put it all on her cards and shows Kacy the statements. She charged $62,000 combined.

Vivian asks where Anna stayed after her one night at Kacy's. Kacy knows where she tried to stay.

Bobby calls Kacy and says Anna is there to see her again.

Kacy says Anna waited in her lobby for five hours. She came close to cracking several times, but Rachel wouldn't let her.

Kacy tells Rachel over the phone that Anna won't leave. She's waiting Kacy out. Rachel says to wait Anna out and encourages her, using the same words Kacy used on them in their training sessions.

Kacy says the universe had her back. It got her out of Morocco and found her a real friend. Rachel's a good person.

Rachel pulls a bottle of Pelligrino out of Kacy's fridge. She asks if she can pour Kacy a glass.

Neff says Rachel abandoned Anna. Rachel was happy to be Anna's friend when it meant free things, but bailed as soon as things got tough. Vivian asks if a friend charges a friend's card without permission. Neff realizes she still hasn't talked to Rachel. When she does, she'll see. Neff wasn't there, but she knows Rachel offered her card. That's how Rachel was. Neff never assumes someone is picking up her check. She doesn't feel sorry for Rachel.

Vivian looks at the vacation photos. She starts adding to the wall.

Vivian leaves several messages for Rachel, asking to talk to her about Morocco and the charges.
